Summary
The railroad station in Independence, Teller County, Colorado, is in ruins after being destroyed by strikers; fourteen men were killed on the platform. Doors are off their hinges, all glass in windows and doors has been broken out, torn shingles lie on the roof, a wall of the building has been broken down, and debris fills the exposed room. A sign reads "Independence" is on the building. Two women look in a broken window, two men lean against the building, and a group of men and women watch two workmen with shovels work near the train tracks.
