"From Black Hawk to Central City the most wonderful piece of railroad engineering in America. A distance of nearly five miles is run to overcome one mile and a quarter, at an elevation of 600 feet in that distance. The track forms the letter Z, and as you pass along the top-most leg of the Z and behold the Snowy Range above and the thriving towns below, it affords a sight never to be forgotten, and no one visiting Colorado should fail to take a trip over this wonderful road. Some of the best views are "The Snowy Range." "Switch Back." "End of Track." "High Trestle Bridge." "Packard Gulch." "Deep Cut." &c &c."
