Stone pediments and sills finish this two-story brick commercial building in Boulder, Colorado, and chimneys rise from the roof. Lettering in the corner mitre of the bracketed cornice reads: "Welch 1877 (?);" other signs read: "Buckeye harvester hardware hazard powder" and "A.L. Welch & Co." Washtubs, a bellows, a perambulator, and brooms are on the boardwalk; men stand by a streetlamp and the storefronts. Rubble, a wagon frame and plows are in the dirt street.
