Summary
Two soldiers on maneuvers, members of Company G of the 86th Mountain Infantry Regiment, prepare to fire a practice round with 60 mm mortar from Resolution Mountain in Eagle County, Colorado. The men, identified as Thomas Boulson and Howard McDowell, huddle in a hole in the snow. McDowell sights the mortar. Both men wear winter gear and caps. Boulson wears snow goggles and has a fur lined hood on his coat; he has a rifle on his back.
