John Y. Nelson, a scout and driver of the Deadwood Stagecoach, poses in front of a teepee with Black Heart, a Native American member of Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show. Nelson holds a rifle pointed toward Black Heart, who in turn holds a war club in his raised right hand. Nelson has a full, gray beard and wears a wide-brimmed hat and buckskin coat with tassles. Black Heart wears a feather headdress and a breastplate, possibly made of bone. Images are painted on the teepees behind the two men in a camp for the wild west show near Earl's Court in England.
