Title	Residence, Georgetown, Colorado
Summary	Exterior view of two small wood construction houses in Georgetown, Colorado, the home of the Hermit of Georgetown. Both buildings have gable roofs: the one on the left has the entrance in the long side, and the one on the right has the entrance in the gable-end side. The left house hasboard and batten construction, a rock foundation, a shingled roof, a horseshoe hanging next the door. The other building has a double central door with double-hung windows on either side and a small window above. On the peak of the roof is a weathervane which includes a flying bird, two figures (one missing an arm) and a simplified American flag, all possibly cut from flat metal. Over the small window is written: "3 [reversed] 881, Franklin Philosophic Hermitage"; below the window is the inscription: "Independent Scientific Repair Shop, Clocks Coopering Chairs Saws Filed, Tin Ware Politics and Theology Tinkerd." A rocky outcropping is between the two houses with a white obelisk on it. A rough picket fence surrounds the two buildings, and at the the gate, in front of the right house, stands a short, stocky man with a long full beard holding a large round-brimmed hat in his right hand, and holds the hand of a small child in coat and hat with his left hand. A sign is painted on the mountain: "E.P. Rice, Assayer." Other wood buildings are at the foot of the mountain, many with chimneys; a long dark one-story building on the right has "Delmonico Bakery" painted on it. A large boulder is in the right foreground.
