View of 16th (Sixteenth) and Stout Streets in downtown Denver. The Gano & Company Men's Outfitters occupies the first floor of the Steele Building on the southeast corner; awnings hang over the windows, a sign advertises furnished rooms, and lettering for Dr. G. Melville Black (eye, nose, and throat specialist) is painted in the second-floor window. A sign over The Gano Cycle Co. (1610 Stout) advertises Columbia bicycles. Striped awnings hang over the San Francisco Tea and Coffee Company shop in the Barth Building; signs appear for the dental offices of Dr. John B. Thompson and the office of Dr. John Boice. The Relay Wheel Company is at 1625 Stout Street; a sign for the Pabst Brewing Company offices at 1824- 1826 Stout is near the large Albany Hotel in the center background. Street scene includes a horse-drawn carriage filled with men and women, a man riding a bicycle, and a street lamp hanging over the intersection from a wire strung between two large telephone poles.
