Title	Perigo Mill in Gilpin County

Summary	Large piles of wood are stacked at the side of the Perigo Mill in Gilpin County, Colorado. The mill has several levels, and two large smokestacks supported by wires protrude from the roof. Several smaller smokestacks also protrude from the roof. A narrow covered tract shed stands on stilts at the back of the mill. Tall pine trees are on the hillside surrounding the mill.
Date	[between 1898 and 1910?]
Notes	"Perry Gold (circled with Perigo written next to it) Mill - showing tract shed from tunnel to mill. Lake photo - 1898 (Perigo Stamp Mill)" penciled on back of one print; the other print has a typed description taped to the back of it reading: "Modern Stamp Mill on Perigo Mine property. Note the reserve of cordwood piled at the side of the mill. This cordwood was used for fuel, in the absence of coal, and the hills in the immediate neighborhood of the mines were stripped ; bare of timber to be used for that purpose and for mining timbers to support the underground workings;" words "Norma: A swell story goes with this, about Pete McFarlane.
