Two small log cabins stand next to the Spruce Lodge on the west slope of Berthoud Pass on the border of Grand and Clear Creek Counties in Colorado. The lodge has a sign on the front that says: "Hotel Evans Spruce Lodge." A carriage is stopped next to a stone wall in front of the lodge. Tall pine trees line the hillside behind the lodge.
