A large patch of snow remains on a ridge of James Peak in the distance where Gilpin, Clear Creek and Grand Counties converge in Colorado. Pine trees and trees with bare branches line the rocky ridge in the midground near a log structure of the Oro Verde Mining and Milling Company in Gilpin County. Several additional log buildings stand in the right foreground along a dirt road that winds down the mountainside. Several smaller patches of snow also remain on the mountain ridge.
