Summary	This early view of a busy dirt Chestnut Street in Leadville, Colorado includes horse drawn carriages, wagons loaded with goods, horses in the street, pedestrians on the boardwalks, and telephone or telegraph poles with handbills on the left. A two story brick commercial building on the corner has a decorative cornice. The street is lined with wood false front businesses. Signs include one for a shoe store, one for a bakery, and one for "Chas. Mater."
