Posed Native Americans depicting Barry's interpretation of Hiawatha, sent to Mr. Landry of Cincinnati who used them to paint his conception of "Hiawatha appearing from the woodlands" which took first place at National Photographers' Convention; Landry later sent Barry this painting in appreciation; three unidentified Dakota Native Americans, full length studio portrait with painted backdrop; Dakota male and female seated posed in tepee entrance; seated male with braided hair, necklaces, moccasins; seated female with beads in hair, numerous necklaces, beads around forearm, fringed buckskin dress, leggings and moccasins with basket near lap; Dakota male standing with bow in hand, one feather in hair, necklaces, fringed buckskin shirt and leggings, arrows in quiver, bracelets, and beaded pouch at waist; and stag with antlers on ground.
