Condition: Stained.; Title and "Indian tradition: Every warrior who drinks from this Lake will die in battle. [A]fter the range was closely grazed off during territorial cattle days, the Lake filled with drifting sand. Over. In territorial days, Spirit Lake was known as Baker's Lake. A. A. Spaugh built a cattle ranch there called the Baker Lake Ranch. The picture of the cattle round up on other side is a roundup made in the year 1888 by A. A. Spaugh, owner. There was a sand hill one mile east of Baker's Lake in 1879 which the prevailing winds have moved to the east two miles in fifty years. Baker Lake Ranch of A. A.
