A man, identified as a member of the Colorado National Guard, crouches with a rifle behind a pile of rubble. The man wears a cowboy hat, overalls, sweater, and leather gloves. The charred barricade appears to be remains of the United Mine Workers of America (UMWA) Ludlow tent colony which burned during the 1913-1914 strike against the Colorado Fuel and Iron Company (CF&I).
