Summary
Two members of the Hayden Survey (U.S. Geological Survey of the Territories, 1871) sit in a boat with oars and a sail near a rocky shore on Yellowstone Lake, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. A canvas drape on the side of the boat reads: "Anna." The frame of the craft is covered with tar-soaked canvas, a tent-fly is the sail. Stevenson Island and the Absaroka Range are in the distance.
