A steel, arched railroad bridge (built in 1889) of the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad in the town of Glenwood Springs (formerly known as Defiance), Colorado, in Garfield County spans the Colorado River. Retaining walls are built along the sides of the river. A woman stands on the ledge above the river and feeds the congregation of ducks below in the river.
