Stone and concrete buildings at the State Penitentiary in Canon City, Colorado, have hipped gable roofs, vent stacks, factory windows, roll up sectional garage doors, rain gutters and downspouts. A pediment tops the entry; letters on it read "CSP Shop." Dump trucks (men work under one), a road grader, and a compact crane are in the lot, and a wooden picnic table is by the wall.
