View of front exterior facade of the Lake County Courthouse shows a building decorated with bunting on the west side of Harrison Avenue in Leadville, Colorado. Designed by architect George King in 1879, the two story brick building has a low hip roof and a central pavilion tower with a convex mansard roof topped with Lady Justice holding scales. Other features include stone window lintels, a stone foundation, quions, paired brackets, and a cornice with dentils. A banner hung across Harrison on telephone poles with ten pin cross arms reads "A hearty welcome to our boys". Horse-drawn carriages, a bicyclist, pedestrians, and two boys with flags and a sign "Western Union telegram and cable office" are in the street in front of the courthouse.
