This three-story random ashlar stone residence in Canon City, Colorado, has an entry on both levels of the slope on which it is built. Governor Rudd, his wife, and son stand on the balcony and a rock retaining wall is below. A wheelbarrow and clutter are underneath. Terraced garden adjoins, topped by bare trees and a hewn log cabin with a shed roofed extension. Both houses have shingle roofs and chimneys; other dwellings are in the background.
