Notes	"Taken June, 1883"--Front of cabinet card.; A compass rose and numbers corresponding to identification also drawn on front of cabinetcard.; Formerly F45083.; Hand-written on back of cabinet card: This is quite a good view of Buena Vista taken from the Mountains to the east of the town. When I came to the town in 1881 the point where the P.O. is situated was about the western limits of the town and the house marked (4) the eastern limit- since then the dwelling portion of the town has spread westward and the school ho. and quite a number of neat little houses built out amongst the trees which are cottonwoods- to the east there has recently been completed a handsome brick court house and jail costing $45,000- opposite the P.O. not to be seen is the brick bank building recently built where I have my offices now- My former office is just beyond the white building in the center of the town. The mountains are as they appeared about June 1st- at this time of year they are comparatively bare, but the snow never entirely disappears from them- to the south down the Park is a fine view from my office windows.
