Summary	The Hotel Splendide in Empire, Clear Creek County, Colorado, was originally called the Peck House, but was renamed about 1950; the hotel was established in 1860 as a stage coach stop. The building's name was changed back to the Peck House in 1972. The two-story building is at the end a driveway that begins at a highway turn-off, and has "Hotel Spendide" painted on its roof in large letters. A long veranda runs most of the length of the building; tall evergreens grow along the entrance road, and mountains are in the background.
