View of Caribou (9800 feet), a mining town in Boulder County, Colorado, includes log, board and batten, wood frame false fronts, gabled and lean-to structures. Many have external timber braces propped against them for protection against the wind blowing from the Continental Divide. The Sherman House hotel is on the corner of Potosi and Sherman Streets with schoolhouse on slope and "Baldly Mountain" (Bald Mountain) slopes beyond the town.
