Summary	Shows a log cabin built by Anselm H. Barker at 12th (Twelfth) and Wynkoop Streets in Denver, Colorado; a covered wagon, a team of oxen, people, horses, tipis, and trees are to the side. A portrait of a man is in an oval vignette in the corner.

Notes	Formerly F6694.; Penciled on back of mat board: "Sketch of picture in Rocky Mountain Herald 1/21/93 p.1" and: "See letter: Kilgore Maye Foster, July 29, 1974. Cabin 16ft square, built of cottonwood logs, door hung by wooden hinges, Platte River in background with junction of Cherry Creek, Chief and Squaw Peaks as well as Long's Peak in background, large cottonwood tree was site of first town meeting in October 1859, tree on left was used to execute first Denver hanging, man hung was named Stoeffer (he murdered his brother in law), hanging occurred in April 1859, lodges of Arapahoe Indians, perhaps Chief Left Hand." Additional printing on back of cabinet card: "The lodges of tents to the left of the cabin is the Camp of Poizelle a brother in-law, of the noted Arapahoe Indian Chief Left Hand, there were about fifteen indians in this camp and they were natural beggars, our first objects of charity."; Photographic reproduction of a sketch.; Title printed on mat board, with: "Wells & King, Denver, Colo."; R7100262611
