In red folio with lettering: "Collection anthropologique du Prince Roland Bonaparte Indians at Chicago Worlds Fair [sic]."; Label attached to folio interior reads: "Rare album of Indian photographs. 70, Bonaparte, Prince Roland. Peaux Rouges. Album of 35 large original photographs, comprising two portraits each of 17 American Indians - full-face and profile; and a photograph of the entire group. Photographs measure about 9 x 6 1/2 inches, mounted on heavy cardboard. Small folio, loose as issued, in gilt-lettered green cloth covers. One of very few albums issued privately, the front cover showing this to be Number 45, presented to M. Maunoir. Each photograph has the prince's stamp in corner; each mount is lettered "Collection anthropologique du Prince Roland Bonaparte." The final photograph shows the entire group - adult males and females, and children - seated before a teepee. We have been unable to locate any record of this album."; Prince Roland Bonaparte's seal embossed on front of print.; Seventeen of the images are paired portraits (two prints for each plate number 1-17, equaling 34 prints) and one group photograph that is numbered 18.; Title and: "Photographed at the Jardin d'Acclimatation Exposition Paris, 1883.
