Title	Alpine Station
Summary	Exterior view of the Western Union Telegraph and Cable Office, Alpine Tunnel, Gunnison County, Colorado, shows the dilapidated small front gable clapboard structure with an "Alpine Station, built 1884 by D.S.P.P. R.R., El. 11,546', abandoned 1910" sign above the door. Other small signs include "Skip Stop Today" and one with an arrow "To Tunnel 1/2 Mi." A ladder leans against the building and the remains of a railroad signal hang out above the door. The site was, at one time, a station stop outside tunnel through Continental Divide and was built by the Denver South Park and Pacific Railroad in 1881-1882. It was later taken over by Colorado and Southern Railroad.
