A group of men stand on the raised wooden platform of the combination depot, freight room and living quarters of the Alpine Station Number 1070, (later known as Fisher) along Chalk Creek in Chaffee County, Colorado. The depot features clapboard siding and bracketed overhang eaves. A large stack of bundled empty sacks for ore are at the edge of the platform. A horse drawn wagon pauses on a railroad track; a wood water tank is beyond. The Denver South Park and Pacific railroad box cars are on the second track.
