Summary
Chief Big Snake (James Hawkins) and Owl Bull (Mabel Hawkins), Native American (Oglala Sioux) man and woman, pose outdoors near an adobe building with wooden vigas on Lookout Mountain, Jefferson County, Colorado. The man wears beaded moccasins, leggings, belt and shirt, and a feather headdress. The woman wears beaded moccasins, a fringed dress, and a hairpipe necklace. Both hold beaded tobacco bags. Various trinkets that include miniature tepees and clay jars are near windows in the building. A white man and girls stand in the building. Signs and posters read: "Mountain Park Trading Post" and "Lookout Mountain Colorado". One poster depicts Smokey the Bear as he prays. It reads: " . . . and please make people careful. Amen. Remember, only you can prevent forest fires".
