Tourists prepare for a hike in Manitou Springs, Colorado. Women sit on railing of the Ruxton Creek footbridge, holding walking sticks; one wears a light colored sateen bodice with velvet rope knotting, a ribbon collar, and capote hat; the other wears a dark outfit with a wide lapels revealing a knotted white lace collar, bodice and overskirt with huge buttons, white cuffs, a capote hat, and an underskirt with couching, ruching, and a short train and bustle. The men are in sack suit dittoes, winged collars, silk bow ties, and bowler hats; one wears a conductor's hat. A woman in back has a full length cape, a bonnet, and holds the hand of a young girl. Behind them are the Cliff House Hotel and a privy.
