Native American (Ute) women stand and sit near a partially constructed tepee at Garden of the Gods, El Paso County, Colorado. One woman spreads the tepee canvas over the erect poles. A pile of household items, including a blanket and possibly a drum, stands near the tepee poles. Other tepees stand nearby. A white man and boy in hats look on. Native American men stand on a rock formation in the distance. They are probably in Colorado Springs for the Shan Kive (Colorado Springs Carnival).
