Summary
View of Native American (Hopi) men, Snake members, who handle snakes as part of the Snake Dance at Walpi Pueblo, First Mesa, Arizona. One snake member holds a feather whip toward a snake on the ground while other members handle snakes and look on. The Snake members wear moccasins, kilts, fur pelts attached to belts, body paint, and feathers in their hair. Spectators sit and stand on and near pueblo buildings, the Dance Rock, and at the edge of the mesa.
