thirty
eight
miles
west
of
Trinidad
,
Colorado
. This
split
level
structure
is
built
on a
hillside
and has
three
floors
built
in
steps
with
terraces
on the
lower
roofs
.
Built
of
adobe
,
vigas
extend
from the
upper
walls
throughout
; a
rough
log
loggia
covers
the
ground
floor
entry
,
over
which
a
wooden
sign
reads
: "
Miramonte
Store.
" The
doors
and
windows
have
exposed
wood
lintels
with
mitred
ends
. A
low
adobe
wall
crosses
the
foreground
,
enclosing
a
lawn
area
with a
central
fountain
consisting
of a
low
round
adobe
wall
with a
central
rock
pillar
.
