Eureka Street, Central City, Colorado, is crowded with cars and jeeps in a view that looks toward Central Hill. Four people sit in a jeep in the foreground. A man smoking a cigarette drives the jeep; another man wearing a hat, glasses, and holding a small child in his lap sits next to the driver; a woman sits in the back seat. Two jeeps with people in them are behind the first jeep. The people in the second two jeeps are also looking behind them toward Old City Hall. In the background cars are parked on both sides of the street. People are crowded onto the sidewalk in front of the Teller House waiting for the unfurling of the Central City flag in front of old City Hall. Central City selected its new flag in a contest and unfurled it for the first time in a ceremony on August 14, 1965. The Mile High Jeep Club began the ceremony by driving in caravan from Idaho Springs to Central City in their jeeps.
