Interior view of Nampeyo's house, Walpi Pueblo, First Mesa, Arizona; A Native American (Hopi) woman sits in this home cut out of sandstone; shows a wooden pole, hung horizontally between opposite walls, with four blankets, a dress, and concho belt; the pole hangs above a raised doorway; on either side of the doorway is a raised sandstone shelf upon which clothes and blankets lie; a wide brimmed hat, coat and vest hang on pegs near the wooden beam ceiling; a feather hangs from one of the wooden beams; the woman wears a dress, printed shawl, bead necklace, and hair in a side whirl; a fringed shawl lies across her lap.
