Six men pull a hose reel up the hill past the Williams' Stables building and Washington Hall in Central City, Colorado. The reel has wrought iron decoration and is being guided by a fireman dressed in fireman's coat and hat. Four other men, two wearing suits and hats, and the other two wearing trousers and shirts and large crowned golf hats, pull on the ropes attached to the hose reel. A man, who is at the head of the procession and wearing a suit and a hat, is harnessed to the reel and, along with the other men, is pulling the reel up the street. A man stands at the top of the steps of Washington Hall and watches the spectacle. A man standing in the shadows in front of Williams' Stables also watches.
