Title	Alice, Colorado, 1904, Mrs. Harper's cabin

Summary	A long log cabin with a corrugated sheet metal roof on Fall River in Alice, Colorado was a post office in Clear Creek County. Once one of the largest mining camps in the valley below Saint (St.) Mary's Glacier, Alice was settled in the early 1880s. The cabin features a side gable, heavy chinking, square corner notching, sash pane windows, and wooden doors. Two horses are under an evergreen in front of the cabin and lumber construction forms are next to the cabin steps. The shadow of the photographer, wearing a hat, and some trash is in the foreground. A figure wearing a striped sweater stands in the entry door. The cabin was used as a post office from 1898 until 1939.
