Additional information on duplicate print: "1887 Russel was the division piont on the old narrow gauge [narrow-gage] line over La Veta Pass. Narrow gauge line abandoned wht the standard guage line was built over the Sangre de Cristo range 6 miles south of La Veta pass, this crossing was called Veta Pass. US 160 - Colo 10 Highway now covers old roadbed. This town not to be found on modern maps, el. 8318 ft. is a very short distance west of La Veta pass. Data come from W. A.
