View of Bennett Avenue from Second (2nd) Street during April 29th, 1896 fire, Cripple Creek, Colorado; large crowd of men, women and children are gathered on boths sides of street's boardwalk; numerous horse- drawn wagons and carriages loaded with personal belongings or commercial goods are in the street; smoke billows from distant background of street; traffic jam of horse-drawn wagons (one reads "Excelsoir Laundry") are in the background; row of flat-roof one and two-story wooden frame and brick commercial buildings line the streets in this business district; signs attached to buildings include: "1892 Pullin Block" "Hotel Carr" "Mixed Paints" "McDonald - Dentist" "Chicago Bazaar" and "Cripple Creek Prospector - Printing."
