Notes
Title typed on back of photoprint with: "at Pinkhamton in North Park, Colorado. Pinkham, a French-Canadian hunter and trapper was the first permanent settler in the Park. It is said he hoped to trade with the Utes. This was about 1875. Some horse outfits, cow outfits and settlers soon followed his lead. But not until 1879, with the discovery of silver at what is known as Teller City, did the whites surge into the Park. Some years ago, Pinkham's house was torn down and hauled to Walden to be re- erected and preserved. Nothing here(?) was done, and the logs have been used for firewood, so the original first settler's house is lost to posterity. Stephen Payne."; R7100130288
