Title	Advertising railroad car #1
Summary	Advertising car #1, a large railroad car, stands in the midground on a railroad track in a snowy scene. Lettering on the side of the car reads "Buffalo Bill's Great Wild West and Congress of Rough Riders Col. W.F. Cody - President, Nate Salsbury - Vice President." A large building, possibly a railroad station, is in the background. William Frederick "Buffalo Bill" Cody and Nate Salsbury were co-founders of the Wild West Show and together made a fortune touring with the show in the United States and Europe.
Date	[between 1885 and 1900?]
Notes	"A drama car-There were 4 coaches to the train that carried the staff-all sleepers-run in 2 sections 1st off the train was John Platt with 4 men and the canvasman who laid out the grounds. Then Cliff Reed, technician and 2 men. While the r̀azor backs' unloaded the train the cook with cook tent and wagon drawn by 8 white horses went to grounds and by the time the rest of the company got there the food was cooked and ready. Then the seats went up 80 [illegible word] men. The electric light wagon weighed 11 tons. They put up 60 mc lights and 20 incandescent lights. The electrical equipment could be dismantled in 35 minutes" handwritten on back of print.; "Harry Tarleton of Taos, N.M. wed Rebecca Salsbury (stand) in Aug. 1935 in Taos, N.M. that all broncos were bought from Van Tassel and Salsbury and paid $200 each - all outlaws and had the [illegible] caught - Told me also that Cody had a peephole in the backdrop where he watched the progress of the show and that he s̀ure burned that peephole with profanity.'" and "Tarleton was with the show 4 years as Cody's tent attendant" handwritten on back of print.; Image also identified as "F11123."; Title supplied by cataloger.; Vintage photographic print.; R7001052377
