Formerly negative F23446.; Mounted photoprint with crease down center.; Title and date hand-lettered by photographer on original negative; photoprint mounted on mat board.; Typed on back of photoprint: Fowler & Son's Grocery Store taken at the time the store was sold and turned over to Simson & Watts. The store was located on 4th and National [Bennett Ave.] Streets. The men in the picture are: behind the counter Mr. Simson, the one leaning on the counter is Mr. Watts, the others, one a clerk the other a customer. The information furnished by Lee R. Clow (Denver) who worked in the store six weeks to the time the store was turned over to the new owners, and after the employment went to work for Shattuck and Goetzman Surveyors and Engineers for whom he surveyed the Cripple-Creek district until the Cripple-Creek fire 1896.; R7100006683
