A

buckskin
leggings
that
belonged
to
Chipeta
. They are
decorated
with
geometric
designs
in
multicolored
beadwork
.

beaded

fairly
identical
design
using
lazy
beadwork
and
italian
beads
which
were not
available
after
1915
.
Leggings
were
secured
at
outside
edge
with
buckskin
ties
.
Beadwork
;
white
ground
with
vertical
geometric
design
running
up
front
and
back
,
separated
by
white
ground
and
five
red
crosses
,
running
vertically
up
inside
leg
.
Central
geometric
design
consists
of a
large
,
mainly
green
diamond
shape
with a
yellow
cross
at
center
.
Yellow
cross
is
bordered
in
dark
blue
,
surrounded
by
eight
red
squares
(all
within
the
green
triangle)
.
Triangle
itself
is
bordered
with
dark
blue
and
white
squares
in a
stepped
edge
. At
right
and
left
side
points
of
green
diamond
are
red
trident
motifs
. At
top
and
bottom
points
of
diamond
are
narrow
horizontal
strips
(as
long
as the
diamond
is
wide)
in
yellow
,
dark
blue
and
red
. On
either
rend
,
above
and
below
the
rectangular
design
, are
triangles
. The
top
one
being
inverted
, and the
lower
right
side
up
. The
bead
colors
of the
triangles
from
outside
to in are:
dark
blue
,
green
,
red
,
light
blue
,
yellow
and
red
. At
base
of
beaded
section
of
legging
is
green
band
with
red
crosses
with
yellow
centers
.
Directly
beneath
vertical
geometric
design
at
very
base
of
beadwork
are
three
inverted
red
triangles
,
sewn
beneath
the
green
border.
