View of Francisco Plaza (later the Francisco Fort Museum), formerly a fort in La Veta (Huerfano County), Colorado. Shows a "U" shaped, one-story adobe brick building with a shingled and wooden slat roof, a timber fence and a dirt field in front of the building.
History Colorado.; Condition: creased.; Descriptive information typed on verso reads: "These Adoba [sic] buildings are the only permanent [sic] remains of pionere [sic] settlement at La Veta. They were flat roofed dirt covered, Spanish type, defensive and communal. The modern roofing has been the preservation in unusual good condition [sic]. Dates not at hand. This settlement was one of the earliest long before the Railroad came. When the D. & R.
