Summary	Hispanic American María Salomé Córdova sits in a chair and spins yarn in her yard in Hoehne (Las Animas County), Colorado. She holds a wood spindle in one hand and the wool in the other. The spindle rests in a wood bowl in her lap. The elderly woman wears a print dress and apron and has gray hair pulled back in a bun. A striped Rio Grande woven blanket that she made rests on a chair beside her. A road and houses are in the distance.

Notes	Content derived from inventory prepared by Dana EchoHawk.; From inventory: "María Salomé Córdova was a weaver. Blankets made on her loom were called Rio Grande Blankets. They were made from two separate lengthwise strips sewn together. Maria was a consultant on the WPA weaving project in San Luis, Colorado around 1935."
