Summary
View of the Knight House (1885) before restoration, located at 1033 Ninth (9th) Street, in the Auraria Higher Education Center (now in Ninth Street Historic Park, in the Auraria Ninth Street Historic District), Denver, Colorado. Shows a brick Second Empire style house with decorative brick coursing, a mansard roof with decorative tin siding, roof dormers, a tower with a hip roof and cresting, and a wide cornice with scroll-sawn decorated brackets. The entry porch has a corbeled cornice, scroll-sawn spandrels with sunburst decorations and scroll-sawn brackets. A lantern hangs on the porch. The house has brick steps, a stone foundation and a flagstone sidewalk. A decorative iron fence surrounds the house and a park bench is near the sidewalk.
