View of Temple Israel located at 201 West 4th Street, Leadville, Colo. Designed by architect, George E. King, the synagogue was built in 1884 and served a large and active Jewish community until about 1912. The clapboard sided building has stained-glass windows and twin wooden spires on the corners of the front facade. Restored as a museum in the mid-1980s by the Temple Israel Foundation, the process involved restoring the lost corner towers, rose window, entry, and windows configuration.
