View of four beehive shaped coke ovens located in Redstone, Pitkin County, Colorado. Construction on the complex began in 1899 to provide coke for the Colorado Fuel and Iron Company in Pueblo, Colorado. By the early 1900s more than 144 of the coke ovens had been constructed. In 2011, Pitkin County and the Federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funded the restoration of the four coke ovens shown as well as to stabilize others. Two banners on the wood fence depict the two companies in charge of the restoration project; "Building Restoration Specialties, Inc." and "JVA Civil & Structural Engineers."
