View of the old Black Forest schoolhouse located at 6770 Shoup Road, Black Forest (El Paso County), Colorado. The school closed in 1945 and became a county maintenance facility. The chinked log cabin with white shutters is on a new cement foundation, a sign on the cabin reads: "Colorado Historical Society Funding For This Project Has Been Provided In Part Through a Grant From the State Historical Fund." An adjacent building has a sign that reads: "Black For[est] Fire Depart[ment]." The schoolhouse is on the National Register of Historic Places.
