Content derived from inventory prepared by Dana EchoHawk.; From inventory: "In 2004, Abelardo "Lalo" Delgado was posthumously appointed as Denver's first Poet Laureate. Lalo begin publishing poetry in the 1960's that reflected the struggles, hopes and dreams of Mexican-American people. Lalo taught Chicano studies at Metropolitan State College of Denver. In the photo he shown with his wife Lola Estrada as they hold their wedding photo. When he was courting Lola, he sent her a dollar bill every day from California so she could buy a wedding dress. On each bill, he wrote a poem.
