PHAC-A NEW STRENGTH IN PARK HILL
Neighbors, the Park Hill Action Committee is in business.
This first issue of what we intend to be
a frequent newsletter is to tell you what
we are, who we are, what we are trying to
do, what we've done already - and what you
can do to help.
The Park Hill Action Committee (Interdenominational) is an organization, started
by laymen of eight major Park Hill churches
last spring, to:
(1) Reverse any downhill trends in Park
Hill, and
(2) Make it an even better place to
live.
Participating churches so far include
Blessed Sacrament Catholic, City Park Baptist, Messiah Lutheran, Montview Presbyterian, Park Hill Christian, Park Hill Congregational, Park Hill Methodist and
St. Thomas Episcopal. Others in the area
are welcome to join.
Can non-church Park Hill residents join?
Yes, they are welcome; also those Park
Hill residents who are affiliated with
churches outside the Park Hill area.
WHAT PHAC PLANS TO DO
In brief, these are our targets:
(1) To stop the flight from Park Hill of
families who love the area, but who due to
misinformation and rumors are selling homes
below their value.
(2) To publicize the unique assets of
Park Hill, especially to dissatisfied
suburbanites and newcomers to Denver.
(3) To enforce our R-l zoning regulations.
(4) To bring to Par1: Hill all possible
capital im: 'vement.^ ,.;ighborhood parks,
swimming pool 2, jtc.
(5) To encourage community cooperation
with all schools in P rk Hill, and to keep
the school standards high.
(6) To build community spirit with such
activities as town meetings, street festivals, clean-up caiL^i- .£, t-tc.
(7) To work with the churches to develop
among all residents of Park Hill a realistic and Christian attitude toward our few
residents of minority groups. ..one in harmony both with the laws of men and the
Commandments of God.
