We have been kicking an idea around for a number of people about the
idea    BQ ^  would like to split for a discussion into two parts,
First of all a description of the mechanics of how it works, and
secondly, funding * how to get funding off the ground - how to make
it goj thirdly, programming       . The idea is

this I the neighborhood group incorporate a nQUBXns  maintenance and
solieite memberahipa initially among bmtie owners in the capitol hill
area. We would charge a yearly fee which would range from - an option -
either charging a stx'&ighfc annual fee o£ $2$*00 o? having a sliding
scale fee anywhere from $10.00 to $5o.0u*  Jefc shoot initially for
membership of around 2,0.30 home owners. H^v in return for joining the
cooperative, ho&e owners would receive the following initial service.

construction management * ixe gave us the idea after we recruited the
membership, sending around senior students in construction management
and possibly in consumer science. # # lfthis is the new fancy title for

Home Sc (home economics)... sending them around to the member's homes
to do a room by room maintenance check * like a 6 month check - they
would do a room by room check and then ait down with the home owner
and work on a budget for home maintenance that would be well withing
the home owners income* ••"and their desiresff#.. .and their desires and
would be catering especially to the individual home owner. Then in
the cooperative contacted
the meantime we would have acquired what  ideally, an old# semi-
retired carpenter/contractor with a wide range of experience in the
building trade ~ a sort of jack*of«alletrades with good contacts and
good reputation to take up the job of forming maintenance crews*
